Local Eateries Recognized for Food Safety Record

Congratulations to Sacramento Loaves & Fishes, located at 1321 North C Street in District 1, for earning a 2013 Food Safety Award of Excellence certificate. Every fall, in recognition of National Food Safety Education Month, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors honors several food establishments for their outstanding health and safety record. Of the 5,500 restaurants, markets, bakeries, bars, health care facilities and schools inspected by the Environmental Management Department Health Division anually, nearly 600 received a certificate this year. Kudos to Loaves & Fishes’ executive director Sister Libby Fernandez, staff and scores of community volunteers who help prepare lunchtime meals to 650 homeless and low-income Sacramentans every day. See the complete list of Awards of Excellence winners.
