On May 24, 2024 we celebrated the ribbon-cutting event for the opening of the Elkhorn Blvd Extension and the new free waiting lot! special guest speakers: Assemblymember Kevin McCarty, Sacramento County Supervisor Phil Serna, Joe Cruz from the California Transportation Commission, and Airport Director Cindy Nichol.
The Elkhorn Boulevard Extension project enhances access to the Airport, making it easier for customers to enter the campus and begin their journey to one of the many destinations SMF offers. This project significantly improves the travel experience for everyone passing through the airport.
