Today, the Elder Death Review Team (EDRT) provided an annual update to the Board of Supervisors. The EDRT is charged with reviewing suspicious deaths of elderly residents within Sacramento County. Many of the cases that did not make the report were not criminal in nature, but they did share a common recurring theme. As loved ones age and require more assistance, families find themselves providing the day to day care for the elderly and adult dependent family members. This can be an overwhelming undertaking.
