County Budget: Protecting the parkway and reducing homelessness

Trash left from illegal campers on ARPSupervisor Serna invites members of the public to contact your county supervisors to express support for the effort featured in this recent Sacramento Bee column by Marcos Bretón.

Finally, a plan to put serious money into getting homeless off the parkway. It’s a start.

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors will hold Fiscal Year 2017/18 Budget hearings on Tuesday, June 13, Wednesday, June 14, and if necessary Thursday, June 15. They will deliberate growth requests for both enhanced homeless services – including a full-service homeless shelter – and increased personnel, capital and programmatic funding for Regional Parks, including the American River Parkway.

Interested county residents are welcome to attend the budget hearings in person, stream live on a PC or mobile device, or view on Metro Cable Channel 14.  Check the budget hearing agenda for the date and approximate time the Board will deliberate appropriations for regional parks and homeless services.

Email Supervisor Serna if you have questions.
