The Sacramento County Board of Supes adopted the 2021-22 Recommended Budget this week. In addition to the notable investments cited in SACCOUNTY NEWS, I was able to convince my colleagues that we should provide additional, multi-year funding for the Black Child Legacy Campaign, as well as the necessary funding for four (4) more Park Rangers and their vehicles and equipment. The Recommended Budget also includes funding for a comprehensive methamphetamine treatment program for which I’ve advocated a number of years.
Overall, we made key investments intended to help people in need – most importantly the unhoused and people suffering mental health and addiction challenges – as well as those unique assets for which the county is responsible, such as the American River Parkway.
