The Mayor Joe Serna, Jr. Scholarships award Latino high school students in our region who are the future workforce. Last year 34 deserving high school graduates each received a $1,000 scholarship.The BIG Day of Giving is a 24 hour online campaign asking for donations from community members, like yourself, to support the Mayor Joe Serna, Jr. Scholarship fund. Your donation of $25 to $10,000 will be MATCHED on the Big Day of Giving on May 6th 2014 starting at midnight.
The Sacramento Business Services Center, a subsidiary of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, is still accepting applications for the Mayor Joe Serna, Jr. Scholarship program. Applicants must live in the Sacramento Six-County Regional area: Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, Sutter, Yolo, Yuba counties and their cities. Application deadline is THURSDAY, MAY 15TH, 2014.
