2014 Citizens Academy
2014 Citizens Academy

Presented by the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, Sheriff’s Department, and Sacramento Police Department, the Academy engages citizens from all backgrounds in discussion, critical analysis and mutual learning about important issues within the criminal justice system.  It is designed to improve communication, foster a better understanding and develop relationships between members of the criminal justice system and the community they serve.

Representatives from the District Attorney’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, law enforcement, the judiciary, and community organizations will present information and resources, answer questions and address community concerns.

New topics this year include current sensitive community issues, as well as, how the recently passed Prop 47 affects the judicial system.

This 10-week course will be held every Tuesday evening, April 7 to June 9, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., at the Sacramento Police Department headquarters – 5770 Freeport Blvd.

Concerned citizens can make our community a better and safer place to live. Apply to the Citizens Academy today for a chance to learn more about what you can do to contribute to our Sacramento County community.

The DEADLINE to apply is end-of-day MARCH 13, 2015.  To apply, visit the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office website. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
